I have noticed, that despite it’s location, size and potential for attracting major clients, New York has comparatively little top flight Flash work coming out of it. There are a couple of great Flash houses, but compared to the likes of London, there is practically nothing. I was recently offered (and accepted) the role of Creative Research and Development Director at AKQA in New York. It’s a tremendous opportunity and I’m very excited about all the possibilities of mixing my experience, skillset and contacts with the amazing creative development environment AKQA creates and nurtures. They have a great team in London and the whole company has done much ground breaking work using many technologies, but in their hearts, they are a Flash based agency.
